Experience

Imogen Coleman has been surrounded by children for most of her life. She was brought up in a Nursery School and is a very proud mummy to Arthur Patrick and Edie Mae and a proud auntie to 3 nieces and 4 nephews.

In 2006, Imogen started her degree at the University of Winchester. She thoroughly enjoyed her degree in Education and Drama Studies and received a high 2:1 BA Hons. As part of her Drama course, Imogen completed a variety of placements. One particularly enjoyable placement involved working with young special needs adults in a post-16 unit at the Osborne School, Winchester.

After leaving university, Imogen wanted to be involved in the family business and contacted her parents Dr. Lin Day and Howard Day about running Baby Sensory classes. Imogen has not looked back and she has now been running classes for 5 years! During this time, Imogen wanted to extend her knowledge so undertook a PGCE (teaching degree) which she completed in May 2014.

When Dr Lin Day decided to write a brand new prenatal programme, Imogen could not wait to get involved, “I absolutely love learning! I find it absolutely fascinating learning about how incredible babies are, why babies cry, what stimulates them, what products are on the market and lots more. I want to be able to share my knowledge with expectant parents so they can feel fully prepared and in control for the arrival of their baby".

Imogen has now began running Dr Lin Days' prenatal programme Baby Foundations. Baby Foundations is a prenatal programme preparing parents for parenthood and their baby's health and well-being. She is looking forward to welcoming any expectant parents to classes soon!

Qualifications

Imogen Coleman left University in 2009 achieving a high 2:1 BA Hons in Education and Drama Studies. Whilst undertaking her degree, Imogen worked as a waitress at Pizza Hut UK Ltd. In 2008 she became a Support Manager and as part of her training she received a certificate in first aid. Imogen has achieved the Outstanding grade for her Baby Sensory classes. She is now a fully trained assessor for Baby Sensory and she has expanded her knowledge further by undertaking a PGCE (teaching degree) which she completed in May 2014. Imogen has recently taken a First Aid course specifically for babies.

About my classes!

I am delighted to have achieved an 'outstanding' grade for my classes and recently won the Netmums Preschool Activity Gold Award!

I believe I have the dream job and absolutely love every moment of it. I was assessed by the founder of Baby Sensory and Toddler Sense Dr. Lin Day whose comments were:

"Without exception, every parent interviewed said that your teaching approach and practice were outstanding. They also rated your class to be the best baby activity they had attended."

A parent commented: "There is no other class like Baby Sensory - we love it! It's the thought, the planning, time and effort put in by Imogen that makes it stand out. A jam-packed hour of fun."

I love meeting new people so meeting new parents and babies is such a joy.

I am a fully trained teacher after gaining my PGCE (teaching degree) in May 2015. I have also gained a BA Hons in Education and Drama and I am a fully trained assessor for Baby Sensory. Alongside my classes I also work at Baby Sensory Head Office.
